Barack Obama described Guantanamo as a "sad chapter in American history" and promised to have the prison to be closed down within a year. He is changing the policy on suspected terrorists and thus, the detainees will have a fair trial in the American court system.
I'm curious to hear all your opinions on how you feel about this. Feel free to state your opinion. How do you all feel about Obama changing the policy on suspected terrorists?I will say this again and again, this is like a slap in the face to Americans and to the 911 victims' families. Obama is putting America in harms way with wanting to make America a Socialist country. This is like saying that terrorists cannot be questioned for further investigations but can get away with what crimes they all did. TERRORISTS SHOULD NEVER HAVE A FAIR TRIAL FOR ANY ACTS OF TERRORISM!! THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE A FAIR TRIAL FOR SLICING ONES HEAD AND DRAGGING THEM ON THE GROUND!! THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE A FAIR TRIAL FOR ANY ATTACKS ON AMERICAN SOIL!! Let them have their trial in another country. Not with my tax money!
What is Obama thinking?? Does he share the minds of the Clinton administration?? I think Obama is full of it and what he is doing to putting America in harms way is way out of line and I don't need to agree with him, but as him being president, Obama is suppose to protect our country NOT TERRORISTS!!!
WAKE UP PEOPLE, WE HAVE A SOCIALIST AND A SOCIALIST GOVERNMENT!|||They are terrorists, they don't deserve rights. Honestly I think the right choice would have been to shoot them on the battlefield, it would have just been easier for everybody. These aren't good people we are talking about. How do you all feel about Obama changing the policy on suspected terrorists? He has a lot of sense|||I am so relieved. I believe those out of country prisons are set up solely so that the people in charge can evade the laws that they would have to obey if the prisoners were housed in America. I have heard that torture has been practiced and even taught to other governments by our CIA. If so, this is unbelievabley shamful, sinful and if not illegal it certainly should be. I am so horrified by that, that I cannot even voice how strongly I feel about it. The practice of torture can only be approved by ignorant subhumans I have heard the question asked" How would you feel about it if your child had been kidnapped and the person had been apprehended but would not tell where the child was and the child would die if the person would not talk." My feelings would be the same. My childs life would be in the hands of God but torture can NEVER be the right thing to do. What if you had the wrong person and he did not know where the child was. Governments that routinely torture prisoners to get "all the information" make prisoners talk all right but how much of the information is truthful. Everyone talks. They accuse innocent people just to please the torturers. What you do comes back to you and I would not want to face God if I had practiced torture in this life. I want to always be proud that I am an American and if our Government practices or condones torture, I cannot be. Try the prisoners in an open American court. How do you all feel about Obama changing the policy on suspected terrorists?Suspected is the key word everyone deserves a trial I mean come on even the Nazis got one.|||Suspected or not, first prove the charges then deal with them. What Obama has done, should have been done to begin with.American law is sufficient to deal with them under existing judicial system and no special jails/ courts are required and that too in secrecy.|||We are seeing the complete destruction of the American way as we know it.Obama is a Muslim Marxist president who everyone insists has a high IQ but who is actually DUMBER THAN BUSH!! This country is in real trouble now.|||they are not american citizens. they have no right to habeous corpus. to try them in the u.s. is actually against the law. but then so are immigrants who sneak into our country. i guess there are some laws we are allowed to ignore.|||according to the geneva convention all prisoners of war must be treated fairly. now i know our enemies dont treat our soldiers very well, but iraq and afghanistan did not sign the geneva convention,as they are not civilised countries. maybe iraq will soon.
you are goint osee hundreds of changes to us policy over the next 100 days, better hold on tight|||Prisoners taken and charged during war always had access to courts. Military court where they should be having their cases heard. Obama has shot down the process showing support of Muslim terrorist nations. He masked his agenda as best he could during the campaign and liberals don't care what threats there are to this country. It was well known what would happen should he be elected. There is much more on the way. Maybe liberals will wake up before we hit the path of no return. Hope for the best "prepare" for the worst. If they are brought to this country and have access to our civil courts that means they also have access to these judges most of the people on here compalin about. Bin Laden could get off in some of these courts.
