What are some intellegent and well thought out reasons to vote for Obama?

Please don't answer the question with a question, or come back with some quip about McCain or Palin. Give me some legitimate reasons Obama should be President, because if he is elected I want to feel somewhat comfortable with him. As of right now, I am not. I am fully aware of the Republican ticket shortcomings, so lets not go into that. Let's focus on Obama here please. Thank you.What are some intellegent and well thought out reasons to vote for Obama?I cannot think of one reason and I am a democrat so guess I will be voting for McCain because frankly Obama scares me in more ways than I can even bear to think about|||Because Obama will not continue a pointless war which will cost the American economy billions. He will focus on Afghanistan, where the real problem lies. He will change the tax system, giving tax breaks only to those who need them which will be everyone except the top 5% of earners. Thus, more money is available to middle and working class people, and firms will profit from more spending as a result. This will increase economic activity.



John McCain will continue the war in Iraq, but will give the lowest taxes for the top few percent in the US. The rest of people will get their taxes lowered, but not as much as they will under Obama's plan, and if McCain continues the war in Iraq with less taxes, this means less money to invest in health and education. Also, it will be a lot harder to fund the debt that the US is currently in.

3. He taught Constitutional Law at the University of Chicago, so does he knows how our government is supposed to work.



4. He has the least experience of any other elected official and legislator in his 10 years in state and federal public service. He is the only candidate who does not understands either the state or the federal government as an elected legislator.



5. He opposed the Iraq war before he found out that the surge worked so now he has decided that he is going to have a specific plan for redeploying all combat troops by March 31, 2009.



6. He has given himself an A+ score and calls himself a champion for taking some action to end the genocide in Darfur.



7. Barack Obama is committed to us having socialized health care by the end of his first term.

But if you have certain beliefs, here's why you should vote for Obama:



1. You truly believe abortion on demand is a good thing, you should vote for Obama.



2. If you believe the wealthy and corporations are screwing us, you should vote for Obama because his tax plan re-distributes the wealth. It will penalize the wealthy, investors and business and re-distribute that income to the middle class and poor, in many cases just outright giving money to them rather then just reducing their tax bill.



3. You believe that increasing domestic oil and natural gas supplies is a bad thing, and more nuclear plants are a bad thing, then you should vote for Obama. His energy plan consists entirely of investing in alternate energy and fuels, and conservation.



4. You are OK with the fact that he has little national and international experience, and very little record of achievement (successfully accomplishing important things) his entire life.



5. You like the fact that he hangs around with radicals like Bill Ayers and Rev. Wright, that they have played important roles in his life, and he's been close to them, for DECADES.|||Hi, its a complecated answer,yes i think our great nation is not as great, as it once was.(say 20 years ago).Yes i think the wrong adminastration has been in office for too long.The bush adminerstration owning (oil), It seams the bush family will be tacken care of for a few millinium, but how can i vote for a great man who picked a vice president, with less then two years and three months of experence (under the belt) in congress. If you cannot show the ways that one choice is better by showing how the other choice is worse, then no logical argument can be accepted. You're basically saying "Tell me why I should choose option A, but don't tell me the ways it is superior to the other options."|||Obama is someone with a fresh outlook on things, has not spent years being influenced by the lobbyists.

Someone who knows full well how bad the health insurance crisis is. His own mom was dying of cancer, but the insurance company dropped her coverage, because they felt it was a pre-existing condition.

He knows full well there is plenty of resourses for drilling for oil on shore, has different ideas on using alternative fuels.

He graduated at the top of his class at Harvard Law school and also went to Columbia........two of the most prestigious Ivy league schools

My list could go on and on, but I firmly believe that Obama is for the people and wants to see better out of this country.
