A few years ago, he was practically a Mister Nobody legislator from Illinois, and yet now he's a contender for the Presidency. Why? Other than the fact that the Democratic party and the liberal media has ridden on the wave of Obama's "historic" quality as a black Presidential candidate, what exactly gives Obama enough qualification to get elected President????

Who was the single most qualified person to be President in the last 70 years? Richard Nixon -- Congressman, Senator, Vice President, student of world affairs, brilliant intellectually. He didn't do too well, it's fair to say. Dwight Eisenhower had absolutely no political experience before running for President. He did lead an Army, of course, but that's a different story. Ronald Reagan ran a state for two terms, and was an actor and public speaker. The jury seems to be split on him. Jimny Carter was a one-term governor (I think) who ran a brilliant campaign for President, and then had plenty of problems in office.



We just don't know who will be good. We listen to the candidates through the long campaign, pick one and hope. Perfection isn't out there.|||Presidents don't govern by themselves. They have hundreds of advisors along with the Senate and House to "help". The marvelous thing about Obama is he has the gift of being able to unite people and have them get involved in the political process. Presidents, especially Bush, have been disrespected in the last few decades. All republicans have done for America is brought this country down. They have caused gas prices to rise, food prices to rise, more people are losing their homes.
