I've read lots of questions implying that, if Obama wins next week, racism and affirmative action will be non-existent.
There have been 43 other Presidents. None of them put an end to either issue.
So, why are these issues Obama's duty to solve if he wins the election?
Thoughts?
Can anyone explain why it is Obama's duty to end racism and affirmative action if he wins?Welcome to the club Happy Tim... At least you can walk into a party store and not be watched, AND you can walk down the street without white women clutching or moving their purses to the other side. Cry me a river dude....
To answer the question...
It is not Obama's duty to end racism or affirmative action. He can never end it because some people will always be idiots and spreading foolishness like the guy above me that says that blacks can stop blaming the white man for their problems. Obrviously he is removed from reality and probably not a very smart person but unfortunately there are 100's of thousands of idiots like him. It is not Obama's duty to end AA any more than it was Bush or Clinton's. He will enforce the policies of the people just like any president. It is the peoples right to put AA on the ballot and if it passes it passes....if not, it wont. |||Since Obama is the only candidate that plays the race card, sure its his duty to end it
McCain will win in NovCan anyone explain why it is Obama's duty to end racism and affirmative action if he wins?I believe that Obama truly has the best interests of this country at heart. He has proven himself as a great organizer and will bring people together.
No one can ever end racism. It will always exist at some level because that is just human nature (for some of the less evolved I suppose),
The world loves Obama. He has a way of drawing people together with out anger and violence. That is what the people of want!|||Do you think the black community is secretly hoping Obama looses? If he wins they can no longer blame the white man for keeping them "down".Can anyone explain why it is Obama's duty to end racism and affirmative action if he wins?I feel like things will change, but some whites will still hate blacks. It doesn't matter what we do... go to work, take care of our kids, give back to our communities, have values and morals, be stand up citizens, no matter how far we come, to some whites , we're still N*****! Damned if you do, damned if your dont|||He won't end affirmative action. That is a big part of why he is in the position he is now in.|||With the small amount of black blood Obama has in him it's questionable if he can be called the first black president.(6.75% black, 43.25% Arab and 50% white)|||There will always be some sort of racism or dislike for someone. Look in England, the protestants and catholics have been fighting ever since Henry the 8th was king in the 1500's. It is a behavior that no one man can change.|||I was born a white male so I should be discriminated against? Why can't I have the same opportunities for education, government contracts and federal grants? Because I'm white? Amendment 46 makes everyone equal (as it should be) The white male is disadvantaged in this country today because of offenses he did not commit. I'm 22 years old and yes I too would like to have a chance. If you want to blame someone, go after the Elite Families who were making money as slave-traders (Who Are Still In Power), but don't punish me for my skin color. I grew up in a very low-income town. Why should I be punished?
Please Vote Yes On Amendment 46. A vote for equality.
